Text me at 425-243-2050 if you are running late.
Let's explore a new trail and have a new adventure at nearby Cedar (or also known as Echo) Mountain. The trail entrance is right in a local neighborhood & I've read it would be virtually impossible to get lost. Challenge!
To meet: drive as you would going to Lake Youngs Trail Head but either make a left onto SE 184th or drive past the trail head & cross Petrovitsky (depending on which direction you come from). Go two blocks, turn left again at 172nd Ave. SE. Go a short distance, turn right on West Lake Desire Drive SE. Follow a half mile to parking and a trail off the roadway (McGarvey Park).
On the run: Follow the trail down and over Peterson Creek. Shortly after the trail splits, go right. Follow this level trail until you hit a old road. Turn left and follow the road uphill. Avoid any side trails off the road until you see a sign on the right for the hiker only Summit Trail. Now follow the summit trail up to the top.
I have never been here before so this should be a fun adventure & run. Where trail shoes if you have them but it does not sound like the trail is actually too rugged.
Here's a link to the website where I found this little gem.
